Arcos de Valdevez , a municipality located within the Peneda-Gerês National Park and a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, stands out for its unique natural heritage that deserves to be preserved and valued. The Vez Ecovia, also known as the Sistelo Walkways or Vez Walkways, with its 33 km of extension, offers an irresistible opportunity to explore the exuberant local nature along the Vez and Lima Rivers.

Environment
This route, characterized by wooden walkways, stone paths, and dirt tracks, unfolds harmoniously amidst the vegetation on the right bank of the Vez and Lima rivers. Both banks are integrated into the European Union's Natura 2000 network, recognizing the importance and rarity of the fauna and flora present. Regulation
The Vez Eco-trail is not a gated community and is freely accessible, requiring no fees or tickets. To ensure the preservation of these protected areas, it is imperative to follow the established regulations:
Avoid loud noises and sounds.
Avoid walking alone.
Do not leave the marked path.
Pay attention to the markings.
Bring a 0.5l bottle of water.
Not recommended for strollers.
Do not disturb domestic or wild animals.
Do not litter; take it to the appropriate places.
Keep pets under control and on a leash.
Make fires and eat only in designated areas.
Respect private property, and close gates and fences.
Do not collect plants, animals, or rocks; leave nature intact.
No riding horses, bicycles, or motorized vehicles is allowed.
Always wear appropriate footwear and clothing, including a hat on sunny days.

The Vez Ecovia Route
The Vez Eco-trail, spanning 33 km, is subdivided into three stages, each offering distinct landscapes:
Stage 1: Jolda S. Paio - Arcos de Valdevez
Distance: 12.5 km
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Altitude: 10 m - 39 m
Stage 2: Arcos de Valdevez - Vilela
Distance: 9.8 km
Duration: 2 hours
Altitude: 30 m - 70 m
Stage 3: Vilela - Sistelo
Distance: 10.2 km
Duration: approximately 2 hours
Altitude: 68 m - 278 m

Throughout this walk, visitors have the opportunity to explore the Vez and Lima rivers, cross the picturesque town of Arcos de Valdevez and several villages, walk along charming walkways, cross historic bridges and enjoy various river beaches.
